Simeon Finds Investigators on Lovell Street

This week was interesting, I must say.  First we hiked Pine Mountain which seemed a lot more like walking rather than hiking.  Then we had a super long bike ride to a place called Acworth. Now if you think biking up a bunch of hills is hard you would probably be right, but during our two and a half hour bike ride I never once got off my bike and pushed it up any of the hills.  Instead I stayed on and was steadfast. This so much reminds me of 2 Nephi 31:16-21 where we read that one needs to follow the example the Savior has set, but it also says even when we are on the strait and narrow path our work is not done so we need to endure to the end. It is hard, but why complain about it, instead use our strength to keep progressing, to keep carrying on and then you can do what I did when I reached the top of every hill.  I shouted for joy and thanked Heavenly Father that I made it because without Him, we cannot.

Yesterday after all that riding it seemed as though no one wanted to talk to us and I was like, "are you kidding me? I biked all the way for this?"   Just as I finished saying that the spirit whispered to me and said you need to have a prayer in your heart asking Heavenly Father to help you find those whom He has prepared.  I did just that and after going from street to street, house to house we came to a street called - wait for it - Lovell Street. Yep, and I'm not even joking! Someone knew I was coming so they named it after me!!!  On that street we found two new amazing investigators and I was wondering and thinking to myself,  "hey, Heavenly Father, you did this just so I could see when we pray, you listen."  Honestly, I think the answer to my prayers came more quickly because I was willing to obey the promptings I received.  Read 2 Nephi 31. I did not know this chapter existed until I got to the MTC.  Weird, right, but it teaches us so much and I'll even quote verse 21.  It says, "And now my beloved brethren, this is the Way; and there is none other Way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the Doctrine of Christ and the Only and True Doctrine of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Ghost, which is one God without end, Amen."

Oh, and don't worry, I got a hair cut this week.

  1. You can read my mind. I said to myself, that is one Elder who needs a hair cut. Love the progress you have made and the man you are becoming. Keep up the good work.
