Selwin Stays Put!

So the last week has been an alright week.  We found a few new investigators who seem very interested in the gospel and one in particular has a lot of questions and concerns, but nothing we can't handle. We had some appointments fall through but that happens and we had some rain.  Yep, it was a week where everything happened. And in these times you might get discouraged but then you remember how hard it was for our Savior Jesus Christ and also his prophets.  In Alma 31: 31-35 it talks about how Alma pleaded with the Lord to bless him and his brethren so they can go forth and do his work so that's what we're doing.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said: "So here we have the burden of those called to bear the messianic message. In addition to teaching, encouraging, and cheering people on (that is the pleasant part of discipleship), from time to time these same messengers are called upon to worry, to warn, and sometimes just to weep (that is the painful part of discipleship). They know full well the road leading to the promised land “flowing with milk and honey of necessity runs by way of Mount Sinai, flowing with 'thou shalts' and 'thou shalt nots'.  Be strong. Live the gospel faithfully even if others around you don’t live it at all. Defend your beliefs with courtesy and with compassion, but defend them."

Elder Holland certainly knew what he was talking about, but like he said, this work is the Lords and it must go on and we, his children, are the ones who have to do it cause if we don't then who will.
